The Tracing Project

If a ritual is designed with a series of steps, that are roughly symmetrical, in time and space, then the unavoidable variations that occur will convey content of the unconscious. In other words, where Logos fails, because it is younger and less experienced, the Muse takes over.

This work is about dance - ritual movements in time and space. What is the difference between something made as the result of a ritual and something not? Rituals are sequences of actions for which there is no desired result. My drawings and paintings are made according to a sequence of steps. I introduce new ‘actions’, and simply execute them as tasks.
