My Sculptures
Sculpture is what comes from the impulse to give real flesh to an idea. . . whereas painting is more the impulse to give appearance.
I think all sculptors are alike in loving materials. . . cork, wood, clay, steel. . each are wonderful and lend themselves to different ends.
I do believe that each material can propose it’s own possibilities. . . working with these substances begins the journey towards an endless stream of forms.
All of my sculptures are prompted by some sort of thought that effectively lightens the heaviness of matter. There isn’t one material that isn’t in some way unworkable unless it has thought and heart breathing through it.
